Q: I’ve heard that you can damage mirrors if they are not cleaned properly. Is this true?
A: Yes you can damage mirrors if they are improperly cleaned. Mirrors are glass with a reflective foil laminated to the back. All too often when cleaning a mirror the moisture from the cleaning solution “wraps” around the back of the glass and delaminates, or corrodes the mirror. That’s why many homes with older mirrors have corrosion marks, especially around the lower part.
We use a special process and solution that differs from our interior cleaning solution when we do mirror cleaning. We also sell the glass micro-fiber rags that we use and they make all the difference in the world for your cleaning in between our scheduled services.
